Design a
Toy for
the World

How it works

From a doodle… to a cuddle.

Seven simple steps from a blank page to a toy you can hug.

  1. 1

    Imagine

Your child invents a brand-new character. Who are they? Where do they live? What do they love?

  2. 2

    Draw

Pencils, crayons, paint, collage — any child-made art. Grown-ups may encourage. Grown-ups must not redraw.

  3. 3

    Photograph

A parent or guardian photographs or scans the artwork — a phone camera is perfect.

  4. 4

    Tell the story

Write up to 100 words about the character, in the child's own words.

  5. 5

    A grown-up enters

The parent/guardian checks everything, gives consent and pays the £10 entry fee.

  6. 6

    Judging

Our panel scores every entry against a published rubric. Imagination comes first.

  7. 7

    Celebration

Finalists join the World Toy Gallery; winners see their character become a real plush toy.
